APPOINTMENTS
1. How do I prepare for my first appointment?
Please bring your insurance card and basic contact information. Feel free to call our office with any specific questions.
2. Can I call you in an emergency?
Yes, we are available 24/7 for dental emergencies.
INSURANCE
1. Do you accept my insurance?
Our practice accepts most private insurances. Check our Insurance page to check on your provider.
2. Will my insurance cover cosmetic procedures?
It depends on the specifics of your policy and the procedure in question, but typically dental insurance does not cover cosmetic dentistry. Call your provider for details.
3. What financing options do you offer?
For individuals and families who are not able to pay for their dental care visits in full, we will work with your budget. We offer a number of short-term in-house financing options.
4. Can I pay with Care Credit?
Yes, we proudly accept Care Credit in addition to our other financing options.
IMPLANTS
1. Am I a candidate for dental implants?
To benefit from dental implants, your oral health must be in good shape, with healthy gum tissue and enough bone in your jaw to support the implants. Make an appointment today to find out if you qualify!
2. What are the benefits of BioHorizons implants?
BioHorizons is one of the premier dental implant brands available. Their products are lightweight, biocompatible, and made of titanium for durability.
3. Should I expect pain from dental implants?
Local anesthesia will be used during the procedure to numb any sensation and you will be provided with medication for use during your recovery.
4. After getting dental implants when can I eat again?
Feel free to resume eating and drinking once any numbness has worn off. We recommend avoiding certain foods until fully healed, however, such as spicy or acidic foods, very hot or cold foods, and hard or sticky foods. For example, it’s best to hold off on things like tomatoes, seeds, and popcorn.
5. After getting dental implants, when can I go back to work?
It will depend on how you are feeling after the procedure. Some patients choose to go back later in the same day while others dedicate a few days to recovery.
6. How long does the process take?
Expect it take 4 to 5 months from your initial consultation to the point when your permanent implants are placed. From that point, you will be looking at another 4 to 6 months for your jaw to heal completely.
7. How long does the procedure take?
For temporary and permanent implants alike, placement will require around an hour per implant.
8. How long will my dental implants last?
Most implants are capable of lasting 25 years or longer with the proper care. Poor oral hygiene, pre-existing conditions, and other oral health issues can lessen their longevity.
DENTURES
1. Am I a candidate for dentures?
Dentures are ideal for patients with periodontal disease or whose natural teeth cannot be saved for various reasons. Make an appointment today to find out if you qualify!
2. How long does the process take?
Expect your dentures to be ready within 2-4 weeks, depending on their type.
3. How long will my dentures last?
Most sets of dentures last roughly 5 years.
4. Do I still need to schedule regular dental visits with dentures?
Yes, in addition to giving your dentures a deep cleaning and any necessary adjustments, we will also perform an oral cancer screening.
ROOT CANAL
1. How long does a root canal procedure take?
We are able to complete a root canal procedure in approximately one hour.
2. After a root canal, when can I eat again?
Feel free to resume eating and drinking once any numbness has worn off, though you may experience sensitivity at first. Avoid discomfort by chewing on the opposite side of your mouth and taking it easy on harder, chewier foods for a few days.
WHITENING
1. How long does professional teeth whitening take?
The in-office teeth whitening procedure typically lasts approximately one and a half hours.
2. How long will the whitening last?
This varies greatly from patient to patient depending on their teeth and diet. To maximize longevity, avoid drinks that will stain your teeth, such as coffee, as well as cigarette smoking.
OTHER ISSUES
1. How should I handle losing a tooth during a sports injury?
Immediate treatment is recommended in these situations. Come to our office for an emergency appointment.
2. How should I handle my filling falling out?
Contact our office right away. We will assess the situation and decide on a treatment plan. It may be as simple as re-filling the tooth, but we recommend coming in for an emergency appointment.
